Course A: Introduction to Seeking Safety.
Course B: Seeking Safety topics.
Course A relates to Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 of the Seeking Safety book. Chapter 1 is "Overview" and provides background on trauma and substance abuse. Chapter 2 is "Conducting the Treatment" and provides implementation guidance on the format of sessions, preparation, adapting the model to different contexts, problem situations, and materials applicable across the treatment. Objectives:

2. To recognize the importance of safety as a key theme when treating people with trauma and substance abuse.
3. To identify the key principles of Seeking Safety.
Course B relates to the 25 Seeking Safety topics in the Seeking Safety book. Exam questions relate to the topics and also clinical scenarios in implementing the model. Objectives:

2. To address challenging clinical scenarios that may arise when conducting the Seeking Safety topics.
3. To identify clinician responses that are consistent with the Seeking Safety treatment philosophy.
Practical details for both courses. You will need the Seeking Safety book to complete the online training(s). Please note that this course does not have video content-- it is a set of questions that relate to different parts of the book to help you identify whether you are aware of some of the key aspects of Seeking Safety. The training can be done with or without continuing education credits (CEs). It has 6 CE credits available for Course A and six CE credits available for Part B (a total of 12 CEs if you take both courses). Our online CE courses qualify for these CE types. If you purchase the course(s), we will email you details on how to obtain the certificate(s). If you decide not to obtain CEs, you can still do the course(s) and receive a certificate of completion.
When you pass a course you can print your certificate of completion, If you ordered CEs please send us the certificates and we will issue the CEs within 7-10 business days via email; the non-CE version the certificate will just state that you completed the course. Please note the following timing:
You will have one year from the date you receive your login from us to access and complete the course(s). After that, you will not be registered and would need to order them again. You will be able to print your certificate for any course you pass. Please print it within one week as you will no longer be registered for the course after that. Also we will retain your certificate for one year, but be sure to retain it on your end as well.
Note for international orders: Your order will show a 'shipping' charge but we will immediately refund that when your order comes in. Our store automatically creates the charge for international orders due to how shipping is set up but we guarantee you will be refunded that shipping charge.
