temp 5-5; this gets put back under 'ipln' on covid page later
You can continue to conduct Seeking Safety amid the challenges of COVID-19. Try any of the ideas below that fit your situation.
1. Agencies can contact [email protected] to request information on a licensing agreement that would provide a PDF (electronic) version of the handouts that you can send to your clients. With the PDF you could also bring up the handouts on your screen and share them with the client using Zoom or any other telehealth platform.
2. You can mail hard copies of the Seeking Safety handouts to your clients and go over the material verbally by phone.
3. You can have the client obtain the Seeking Safety book from amazon.com (which has options for renting the book, used copies, as well as new copies).
4. You could implement Lisa's recent model for trauma and/or addiction, Finding Your Best Self, which has a low-cost book that your client could obtain ($8.99 on amazon.com). The book can also be used as self-help.
5. If any of your clients are ages 18-25 with substance abuse in the past year, we have a study that provides a free phone app to teach grounding (from Seeking Safety) and also provides amazon.com e-gift cards for completing assessments.
6. If any of your clients reside in Canada (Manitoba or Ontario) and have problem gambling and trauma issues, we have a study that provides 12 sessions of free telehealth therapy by a trained counselor plus amazon.ca e-gift cards for completing assessment. Seeking Safety is one of the counseling models provided.
Please contact Jamie Miller, our coordinator, if you have further questions or idea.
