seeking safety during covid-19
training
We have ongoing 1 day Seeking Safety training webinars open to anyone. See our open trainings page for upcoming trainings. CEUs can be obtained with registration.
Most organizations still looking to host a private training for their internal staff have opted to have the training via webinar as well. By utilizing breakout rooms and polling our webinar trainings very closely mimic our onsite trainings and so far the feedback has been wonderful. If you are interested in exploring private training options during COVID 19 please submit a Training Request Form to [email protected] and we will be happy to provide more info and next steps.

implementation
You can continue to conduct Seeking Safety amid the challenges of COVID-19. Try any of the ideas below that fit your situation.
1. Individuals and agencies who have already purchased copies of the book Seeking Safety (one book per counselor) can contact us at [email protected] to request information on a licensing agreement that would provide a PDF (electronic) version of the handouts for use with your clients during COVID-19. With the PDF you can bring up the handouts on your screen and share them with the client using Zoom or any other telehealth platform. If you have not yet purchased one copy of the book per counselor, you would need to do that first and can do so via our store or on amazon.com before you contact us. Please note the requirement of one book per counselor is from Guilford Press, which owns the copyright to the book.
2. You can mail hard copies of the Seeking Safety handouts to your clients and go over the material verbally by phone.
3. You can have the client obtain the Seeking Safety book from amazon.com (which has options for renting the book, used copies, as well as new copies).
4. You could implement Lisa's recent model for trauma and/or addiction, Finding Your Best Self, which has a low-cost book that your client could obtain ($8.99 on amazon.com). The book can also be used as self-help.
5. For the Spanish handouts, we have an audio version that clients can listen to, recorded by a native speaker. We don't have ability to share the handouts as PDFs, but the audio allows clients to review the material in advance of the session. It's on our Store / Spanish materials.
6. If any of your clients reside in Canada (Manitoba or Ontario) and have problem gambling and trauma issues, we have a study that provides 12 sessions of free telehealth therapy by a trained counselor plus amazon.ca e-gift cards for completing assessment. Seeking Safety is one of the counseling models provided.
Stay well!
