Part 2 of a professionally produced set of educational DVDs on trauma and substance abuse.  The series offers perspectives on treatment by Lisa Najavits, Francis Abueg, Pamela Brown, Bonnie Dansky, Terence Keane, and John Lovern; as well as several people in recovery from various types of traumas and substances. Produced by Cavalcade Productions in 1998. This DVD is for clinicians and runs for 40 minutes. Part 2 topics include: (a) the therapeutic relationship; (b) codependency and therapist self-care; (c) crises and relapses; (d) twelve-step programs; (e) medication; (f) therapist characteristics and training; and (g) positive effects of treatment.  You can also order Part 1, Therapeutic Approaches, for clinicians; and a condensed version for clients of the two parts.
