- You need to have a mobile phone or tablet to download one of the study apps.
- You would start with an assessment online that is estimated to take about 30 minutes.
- If you are eligible for the project you would be assigned by chance (randomly) to one of the following two study conditions and you will have a 50% chance of being assigned to either one: (1) the Seeking Safety app along with 12 free weekly one-hour group Peer-Led Seeking Safety sessions led by a qualified peer, with up to 9 adults in the group, which you can attend via Zoom; or (2) a control app that has content from Seeking Safety. Half of the study participants will receive #1 and the other half #2, assigned by chance. The study apps are free and can be used on your phone or tablet.
- Whichever study condition you are assigned to, you will receive a unique login and password so that you could download the app onto your phone or tablet. All participants will be given access to their app (enhanced or basic) for 12 weeks.
- After 12 weeks with the app you will be asked to complete an assessment that is like the one you did at the start.
- After 3 additional months you'll be asked to do a final assessment. You would then be paid an $90 amazon e-gift card.
- We will also conduct an optional one-hour zoom feedback interview with those who had the enhanced app; if you complete this you would receive an additional $25 amazon e-gift card.
