1. When you use a Treatment Innovations (TI) mobile app, no data that could be used to identify you is sent to third parties.
2. 3. When you login to the study app you will be asked for your study ID and study initials. These will allow us to link your study measures (the assessments you fill out at the start and end of the study) to your app usage. We use a study ID and study initials to keep your identity private.
4. In using the Seeking Safety and GroundNow apps, it is your responsibility to protect any information in the app once it is installed on your device. Setting a passcode on your device is recommended to help keep your information safe.
5. We are working with an outside technical company that may use some software analysis tools to help identify and prevent app technical problems. This company cannot access your name or personal information about you that you have shared with our study team (e.g., study assessments).
6. The Statement of Informed Consent that you signed to enroll in this study applies during your use of the Seeking Safety and GroundNow apps. You can read the full Statement of Informed Consent at: https://bit.ly/2NIQcw1
7. Please note that the Certificate of Confidentiality that is described in the Statement of Informed Consent applies to your use of the app as well as to the measures you have and will fill out on this study. The Certificate is described in the Statement of Informed Consent as follows:
"To help us protect your privacy, we have obtained a Certificate of Confidentiality from the National Institutes of Health. The researchers can use this Certificate to legally refuse to disclose information that may identify you in any federal, state, or local civil, criminal, administrative, legislative, or other proceedings, for example, if there is a court subpoena. The researchers will use the Certificate to resist any demands for information that would identify you, except as explained below.
The Certificate cannot be used to resist a demand for information from personnel of the United States federal or state government agency sponsoring the project and that will be used for auditing or program evaluation of agency funded projects. You should understand that a Certificate of Confidentiality does not prevent you or a member of your family from voluntarily releasing information about yourself or your involvement in this research. If an insurer, medical care provider, or other person obtains your written consent to receive research information, then the researchers will not use the Certificate to withhold that information.
The Certificate of Confidentiality will not be used to prevent disclosure to state or local authorities of child abuse or neglect, elder abuse or neglect, or imminent physical harm to self or others that requires our study team to protect your health or safety."
